We are loking for as skilled and reliable driver to join our team in a company that operates both day and night shifts. As a Day/Night Shift Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods, materials, or passengers safely and efficiently to designated locations. Your ability to adapt to different shifts and maintain a high level of focus and attention to detail throughout the day and night is crucial for the success of this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Safe Transportation: Operate company vehicles, including cars, or specialized vehicles, to transport goods, materials, or passengers according to assigned schedules and routes.
2. Cleanliness: Making sure the vehicles are clean all times.
3. Time Management: Follow delivery or pickup schedules and prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, even during old hours or adverse weather conditions.
4. Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition, reporting any issues or malfunctions promptly.
5. Documentation and Records: Accurately complete all required paperwork, such as delivery logs, mileage records, or maintenance reports, to maintain a clear record of activities.
6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment. Maintain a strong commitment to defensive driving techniques.
7. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally and courteously with clients, suppliers, or Employees during pickups, or deliveries. 8. Communication: Effectively communicate with dispatchers, supervisors, or team members to coordinate schedules, address any issues, and provide updates on delivery status.
9. Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work both day and night shifts as required by the company, maintaining alertness and focus regardless of the time of day.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
1. Valid Grade C Driver’s License: Possess a clean and valid driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicles operated.
2. Professional Driving Experience: Prior experience as a driver, preferably in a commercial setting, with a proven track record of safe driving practices.
3. Dependability: Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, able to adhere to strict schedules and meet deadlines consistently.
4. Physical Fitness: Possess the physical stamina to spend long hours on the road and perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading cargo as required.
5. Knowledge of Local Routes: Familiarity with the local area and efficient navigation skills to ensure timely and efficient transportation.
6. Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, allowing for effective coordination with team members and clients.
7. Safety Consciousness: Deep understanding of traffic laws, regulations, and safety practices, with a commitment to maintaining a high level of safety at all times.
8. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think quickly and resolve minor issues or obstacles that may arise during transportation operations.
9. Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including both day and night shifts, based on company requirements.
10. Age: Not below 30 years of age.
